Terms of sale and licence
Last updated 2 November 2026
These terms cover buying and using software from OddNote Audio. They are written to be read, so please do.
1. Who we are
OddNote Audio makes audio plug-ins. You can reach us at oddnoteaudio@gmail.com. “We”, “us” and “our” mean OddNote Audio; “you” means the person who buys or uses a plug-in.
2. Buying
- Checkout, payment, sales tax or VAT and receipts are handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. Your card details go to them and never touch our servers.
- The price, currency and any tax are shown before you pay. A purchase is complete when payment succeeds and your licence key arrives by email and in your account.
- Software is delivered digitally: you download the installer from your account.
- Refunds are described in our refund policy.
3. Your licence
When you buy a plug-in, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it, on these terms.
- Computers. One licence can be active on up to 2 computers at a time. You can remove a computer in your account at any time to free its place, for example when you change machines.
- Your music. You own the audio you make with our plug-ins and may use it in personal and commercial work without paying us anything further. Presets you create are yours too.
- Perpetual use. A licence has no expiry date. It covers the version you bought and any updates we choose to release for it; we do not promise a particular update schedule or that every future product is included.
- Not allowed: sharing or selling your licence key; using one licence on more computers than allowed; copying, reselling or redistributing the plug-in or its installer; reverse engineering it or removing or bypassing its licensing, except where the law says you may.
4. How activation works
The first time you open a plug-in you enter your licence key and it checks with our server. After that:
- The plug-in checks again quietly in the background. A successful check keeps working for 30 days, and the plug-in then keeps working for a further 30 days if it cannot reach the internet. Most people never notice a check.
- If the computer you make music on has no internet, you can activate it offline from your account, using a second device that is online.
- Licence checks run in the background and are designed never to interrupt or slow down your audio. What the plug-in sends is listed in our privacy notice.
5. When a licence can end
We may suspend or end a licence if the order is refunded or the payment is reversed, if the key is being shared or used in breach of these terms, or if the purchase was fraudulent. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. Ending a licence never affects projects or presets you made.
6. Beta software
Beta versions are free, unfinished and may contain faults. A beta licence has an end date, and the plug-in stops opening after it unless you have bought the final version. Do not rely on beta software for important work without backups.
7. Support
We provide reasonable help by email at oddnoteaudio@gmail.com. We do not promise a response time or that we can fix every problem on every computer setup, but we will try, and we want you to be able to use what you bought.
8. Warranty and liability
We work hard to make reliable software, but software can have faults and it is provided “as is” as far as the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost income or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the price you paid for the product concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms, and we will change the date at the top when we do. A change does not take away what you have already bought. These terms are governed by the laws that apply where OddNote Audio operates, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your own country.
