Privacy notice
Draft: this notice describes how the site and plug-ins work today and will be finalised before launch.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and a password (stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider).
- Purchases: order number, product, amount, date and the email you bought with. Payment is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy; we never see or store card details.
- Licensing: your license key (encrypted at rest), and for each activated computer a name such as “Windows 11”, the dates it was activated and last checked, and a one-way fingerprint of that computer. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into any identifier of your machine, is different for each OddNote product, and is not your hostname, user name, serial number or MAC address.
- Downloads: which version you downloaded, and when.
- Mailing list: your email address, only after you confirm it, and the page you signed up on.
What the plug-ins send
When you activate or renew a license, the plug-in sends your license key (activation only), the plug-in name and version, the computer fingerprint and the operating-system name. Nothing about your music, projects, presets or other software is sent. Licensing information is never written into your projects or presets.
How we use it
To provide your account, issue and protect licenses, deliver downloads, send receipts and license instructions, prevent abuse, and, if you joined a list, tell you about OddNote. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Who handles it for us
Supabase (accounts and database), Lemon Squeezy (checkout and receipts), Cloudflare (installer storage), Vercel (hosting) and an email delivery service. They process data only to provide those services.
Your choices
You can remove computers and view your keys, orders and downloads in your account. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click. Contact us to export or delete your data; some purchase records must be kept for tax and accounting.
